Not only has Mr. Debez been the star of his own television shows, “Al Derecho y Al Derbez”, “Derbez en Cuando”, “XH-DRBZ” (comedy sketches) and “La Familia Peluche” (sitcom), but he has also produced, written and directed on all of them.  His shows are the highest rated in Latin America (Viewed by more than 25 million people weekly just in Mexico).  Each series has set different audience records that have yet to be matched, including the highest rating for a comedy series episode in Mexico’s history.

Continuing to air in Mexico, throughout Latin America and in the U.S. (one hour daily, Monday through Thursdays on UNIVISION), Eugenio’s television shows have constantly been reviewed and considered the finest and most advanced humor in Spanish-speaking television.  Each series has been known to push boundaries and unveil new ways and styles of creating comedy.  Constantly working and providing fresh material, to maintain his existing characters originality, has allowed him to widen his range as an actor and to become equally comfortable performing the broadest physical comedy to the most complex satire.  Each one of his characters and their respective catchphrase have permanently permeated into the vernacular, to the point of having prominent political figures quoting him in their speeches.

Eugenio is currently producing and directing the television sitcom “Vecinos” (“Neighbors”), and since its debut on July 10, 2005, it has received the highest ratings on evening programming.

He takes particular pride in having directed, co-written and starred in the first comedic Mexican soap opera in 1997, “No Tengo Madre” (“I Have No Mother”), which caused a great deal of controversy during its broadcast due to the manner in which it was presented, breaking away from the conventional ways of the genre.

Due to his high public awareness and massive appeal, Eugenio has been invited to the World Cup Events, as well as to the Olympic Games, to enhance the broadcasts with his sharp timing and humor.  Deemed a key role in the constant ratings war, he has been a must for these events in addition to other special event held throughout the years.
